Open position: Technician / lab manager

Circio (previously Targovax) is a preclinical stage company developing a proprietary circular RNA expression platform. The circular RNA platform allows for high and durable expression of any therapeutic protein of interest as well as stable production of additional functionalities within cells. Currently, Circio aims to unlock the full potential of this platform and to deploy the technology as broadly as possible, such as within oncology, infectious and rare diseases.

Circio is currently seeking an experienced Technician/lab manager to join the expanding R&D Department of Circio, and to assist in establishing and managing Circio’s new laboratory facilities at AWL, in Huddinge, Stockholm. In this position, you will take part in the development of the company’s research programs and conduct an extended array of molecular biology and immunology-based assays. In addition, you will work in a fast paced, exciting, and challenging environment in-between academia and industry and participate in brainstorming, troubleshooting and optimization of state-of-the technologies.

Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will involve:

  • Setup and perform inventory, risk assessments and ordering supplies for consumables.
  • Conducting, testing and optimizing various molecular assays.
  • Collaborate closely with the R&D team on a daily basis.

Qualifications

You are a trained laboratory technician or with equivalent education. You are a service-minded team-player passionate about the development of therapeutics, and fluent in oral and written Swedish and English. The ideal candidate should also have the following expertise:

  • At least 3 years’ experience of lab-related work
  • Experience with lab-relevant regulations from Swedish authorities.
  • Experience with classical molecular techniques, such as cloning, cell-culture maintenance and transfection, as well as RNA and protein analyses.

In addition, experience with the following is preferred:

  • ELISA
  • NGS library preparation
  • FACS and flow cytometric analysis

It is important that you work independently and responsibly. Moreover, you will interact with colleagues of many different nationalities, so good communication skills are essential.
